One of the most important features of the e-Flag Racer system is the ability for a competitor to send an emergency alert (SOS) to race management if they have an emergency. This alert will send an audible alarm and a visual alert to race management so that immediate action can be taken to ensure the competitor’s safety. This is why it is crucial that competitors always have the application running in the foreground during a competition.

The SOS button is always visible from the app’s main screen — it is a vertical red button located on the left-hand side of the screen.

To send an SOS, a competitor must tap and hold the SOS button for approximately three seconds. The lapse of time is shown visually as a shadow darkening the SOS button, as seen here:

Once the SOS has been sent, the following confirmation message will be displayed:

The central system will now receive the SOS message, and an alarm will sound alerting the Clerk of Course to take appropriate action.
